Description

Agrupamento de Escolas Pintor José de Brito (APJB) is a Portuguese group of schools in the Alto Minho region, a territory where occupation and human activities are developed in a tradition of valorization of natural resources. It is bordered by Spain to the north and east, by the district of Braga to the south and by the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It is a region characterized by the richness of its natural landscapes, which is distinguished by the harmony of its various ecosystems: maritime, fluvial and terrestrial.

APJB aims to develop strategies that encourage lifelong training and citizenship, in a logic that promotes healthy lifestyles and personal and social promotion of all its members, based on democratic and participatory principles. Thus, APJB, which is constituted by several schools with a not very high number of students, presents friendly environments, with reduced levels of indiscipline, allowing all its members to get to know each other and interact, as if it were a big family. It assumes itself as an integrative, dynamic, innovative space, of constant practice of citizenship and of development of creativity and
motivation for work, based on an enlightened, active and responsible citizenship, based on values such as freedom and democracy; equity and justice; responsibility; ethical and honest behavior; respect for difference; respect for the construction of knowledge, as well as its human dimension.
